Habitat for Humanity Australia are thrilled to host Global Village Builds in the Asia Pacific in partnership with schools, colleges and universities.

Global Village is your opportunity to contribute to Habitat’s long-term housing mission through a short-term international volunteer program. Global Village brings people together to help build and improve homes and the health and wellbeing of families and communities. Habitat for Humanity Australia works closely with our partners in Cambodia and Vietnam, and in just one week, you’ll work with home partner families and local labourers to help construct a new home for a family in need of safe and secure shelter.

No experience or skills are required and students from the age of 15+ – of all fitness levels – are welcome.

Depending on the project location, you might be mixing concrete, weaving bamboo, laying bricks, digging trenches or painting. By working alongside a family, you give them an opportunity to be independent and have healthier, happier, more secure futures. Their lives will be forever changed, and your hard work will continue to have a lasting impact long after you have returned home.

Through their participation in these projects, students enrich their learning, and the fundraising component allows further immersion in the cause and the engagement of the wider school community.

The funds raised go far beyond supporting the activity, helping to ensure the continued operation of our support in the Asia Pacific region, which seeks to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to families in need.
